Our conventional braces option is great for teens who already have fully developed teeth. Since their mouths and bones are still growing, we can adjust the final position of their occlusion (biting relationship) to provide healthy tooth and bone alignment when they bite and chew.
How to Get Started
Most of our traditional braces patients begin treatment around the age of 13-15. The initial evaluation will involve a full mouth scan and series of photographs. As we evaluate their bite, we’ll determine if braces are necessary and estimate how long it will take to achieve the desired results. An average of 8-12 months is typical.
If your family is ready to move forward, we place the braces on your teen’s teeth. A check-in visit is usually required every two weeks to change out appliances as needed.
Payment Information
A $500 setup fee is required and we will process your health fund at the first appointment. If any amount is leftover, we make it easy for you to pay as you go at each appointment. Third-party financing is also available if you prefer a different payment option.
Care and Maintenance
Oral hygiene is extremely important for people in braces. Since there are extra places for food and plaque to adhere to, you’ll want to take your time as you brush twice a day. Pay particular attention to the gumlines and around each bracket. Investing in an electric toothbrush and water flosser is extremely beneficial. As long as you find the best way to clean under your wires and between your teeth each day, that’s what’s most important.
Avoid any hard, sticky or crunchy foods, as these might cause your appliances to break.
